The most exclusive and powerful version of the Audi R8 Spyder has arrived in the United States. However, the automaker based in Ingolstadt hand build 333 examples of the R8 Spyder GT, of which 50 are for the U.S., each with a suggested retail price of $ 210,000 (€ 163,300) excluding $ 1,200 destination and delivery fees or local taxes.
What you get for the price of a family home in some states like Ohio, is a lighter and more powerful R8 Spyder V10.
In the GT, the 5.2-liter V10 engine with direct injection and has been raised to a power of 560 horsepower and 540 Nm (398.3 lb.-ft.) of torque, while Audi's engineers cut the weight of the model convertible for 187.39 pounds (85 kg).
All these measures help the R8 Spyder GT accelerates from zero to 60 mph (96km / h) in 3.8 seconds and reach an impressive top speed of 197 mph (317 kmh).
Other highlights include the suspension by 10 mm lower, with a rigid calibration, an aerodynamic package, 19-inch wheels and alloy brakes with vented and perforated discs.
The first deliveries of the R8 Spyder GT will begin this month.
